Rosehannah Vachon

OD, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Rosehannah Vachon, or “Rosie,” was born and raised in Ellsworth, Maine. She studied Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Maine at Orono before attending optometry school at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She received her Doctorate in Optometry in May 2020.

During her time in optometry school, she completed clinical rotations in ocular disease, community health, pediatrics, vision therapy, and contact lenses. She is a member of the American Optometric Association.

Outside of school and work, Dr. Vachon spends a lot of time outdoors running, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. She is also a dedicated fan of all New England sports teams and UMaine hockey and football. She resides in Bangor with her fiance. She will be getting married in October. Dr. Vachon looks forward to working with and helping the people of Maine and is so excited to be home.

Kimberly D. Allen

OD, Diplomate, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Allen is our newest Associate. She joined our practice in November of 2006. Dr. Allen received her doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2003 after graduating from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. She then completed a residency in Ocular Disease with Kittery Ophthalmic Consultants in Kittery, ME. Dr. Allen has advanced therapeutic glaucoma authority through the State of Maine Board of Optometry. She is a member of the International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, the Maine Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Allen enjoys gardening, hiking and camping. She resides in Eddington with her husband, three sons, and two loveable Saint Bernards.

Kathryn O. Ward

OD, Diplomate, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Kathryn Ward grew up in Orono and received her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Maine. She attended graduate school at the University of California at Berkeley, earning her Doctorate in Optometry in 1991. She returned to Maine to join Penobscot Eye Care later that same year. Dr. Ward has advanced therapeutic glaucoma authority through the State of Maine Board of Optometry. She is a member of the International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, the Maine Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Ward and her husband Karl have three children and a puppy. The family especially enjoys biking and traveling to explore different cultures. Dr. Ward is a Board member of CISV (Children’s International Summer Village), a peace education organization that gives children from different countries all over the world a chance to interact and build inter-cultural friendships. She is also a member of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity). Dr. Ward and her daughter have participated in eye care missions in Haiti and Jamaica.

Alyssa J. Verrill

OD, American Board of Optometry

Dr. Alyssa Verrill got her start here at Penobscot Eye Care as an ophthalmic technician while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Maine in Orono. She attended graduate school at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, earning her Doctorate in Optometry in 2016. She has completed clinical rotations in primary care, contact lens, pediatrics, and ocular disease. She is a member of the International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, the Maine Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Verrill resides in Winterport with her husband. They enjoy singing together as well as camping, fishing, and exploring the beautiful Maine outdoors with family and friends.

Stacey is our Practice Administrator. She joined our team in 2000 in a Management and Billing Specialist role at our Bucksport office (no longer in business). She has worked in many positions over the years and became our Practice Administrator in 2021. Her focus is providing our patients with a caring and professional atmosphere at each encounter.
